1. What inspired you to become a writer?

My first taste of writing was in my freshman year of college. I had a wonderful English Literature professor. She had us write a short story as an assignment, and she said I had a natural talent. She was so impressed that she had me read it to the class as an example. After that, I continued to write short stories, but never dreamed of actually becoming an author.

2. Where did the idea for Embers Unbound come from?

Embers Unbound surprised me with how much story is packed into it. The chemistry between James and Scarlett is immediate, but what kept me reading was the emotional connection underneath everything. Their relationship feels intense, complicated, passionate, and genuinely important to both of them.

The book moves through romance, humor, vulnerability, and plenty of heat without losing sight of the characters themselves. By the end, it feels less like you’ve simply finished a romance novel and more like you’ve spent time watching two people find something neither of them expected.
